It was a wonderful Day

Aim: refresh vocabulary and past simple to be, practice reading and listening and speaking skills.

Supplies: audio to sb, wb, Calendar Chart, song «Hello songs, 2 aquariums with fish, 9 cards with places to go, ppt ex.1. p. 94, cards for ex. 3, song The sun comes up, ball.

Vocabulary: places to go, yesterday.

Grammar: Past Simple to be.

Procedure

PREPAPATION

1. Greeting + song «Hello songs»

2. How’s the weather Calendar Chart

- Tell me please ’How’s the weather’? (answers)

3. Aim and topic

- Today we are going to refresh words, seasons, places to go and past of to be (was/were)

- Let’s go!!!

4. Warm up AQUARIUM GAME

1) I have got 2 aquariums. They are with water but there isn’t any fish in them. Let’s find their home

(we were… they stick pronouns to the proper aquarium)

2) In my hands there are 7 cards. Read them out (з місцями де що знаходиться, утворюємо речення за допомогою акваріума): They were in the park…

PRESENTATION AND PRACTICE

1. Reading

ex. 1. p. 94

- We are going to read the text (open the ppt) there are missing words WAS and WERE. Fill them in.

It was Sunday yesterday. My parents, I and Bill were hiking. We were in the mountains. Then we were in the forest. And then we were in the castle! It was a wonderful day! You can see my photos.

2. Listening

ex. 3. p. 95

- Here are other photos. Показую картки по черзі (ліс, острів, гори) Name them. What is it?

- And children. How many? 1, 2, 3 (and stick them on the board)

- Listen to the audio. We need to match them.

- The task is to make the sentences and write to your exercise books
