Animals. Parts of body. (Create opportunities for pupils to revise the vocabulary and develop oral skills)

Outcomes: after completing the lesson the learners will be able to use the vocabulary on topic in oral and writing forms; make up the monster and describe it.

Equipment: songs: «Hello», «Head and shoulders»; smiles (Feelings and emotions); pictures of animals and parts of body; monsters and texts (worksheets).

Procedure

I. Opener

1. Greetings

- Good morning children. I am glad to see you today. Let’s start our lesson with singing a song «Hello».

- Choose the smile and ask each other about your mood. How are you?

2. Warming up

- Let’s play a game «Guess the animal» (pupils ask: Is it big? Is it green? Is it a crocodile?)

- Who wants to describe the animal?

II. The main part of the lesson

1. Vocabulary revision

4) Let’s revise the parts of body. Repeat after me: head, eyes,…

5) Touch your nose, shoulders,….

6) Match the words with the parts of body

2. Relaxing

- Let’s have a rest and sing a song with moving «Head and shoulders»

3. Speaking

- And now let’s answer my questions using the structure: I have got…

How many heads have you got? — I have got 1 head.

4. Reading

- Open your books at page 71 ex.1

- Whom can you see at the picture?

- Let’s read and translate about the monster.

5. Practical work

- Let’s create our monsters and describe them. Listen to my instructions and draw.

This is my monster. It has got one hand. It has got four ears. My monster has got three eyes, one nose, one mouse and three teeth.
