Aim: create opportunities for pupils to learn new letters and grammar structure — can you…? — Yes, I can and develop oral skills.

Outcomes: after completing the lesson the learners will be able to use general questions in speaking, write the letters and name the words with these letters.

Equipment: a song «Hello», ABC, pictures (robot, red, rain, quill, quilt, queen), letters Qq and Rr, plastiline.

Procedure

I. Opener

1. Greeting

- Good morning children. I am glad to see you today.

- Let’s start our lesson with singing a song. «Hello, what’s your name?»

2. Warming up

- Role-play the situation «Greeting and meeting».

- Let’s count from 1 to 20. How old are you?

- Where are you from?

II. The main part of the lesson

1. Aim

- Are you ready for the lesson? Show me your pens, books, …

- So, today we will learn new letters, words and revise the ABC.

2. The ABC Revision

- Let’s name the letters and the words of the alphabet.

A — is for apple

B — is for ball

3. New letters presentation

- Today we will learn 2 new letters: Qq and Rr. (p. 50)

- Let’s make up the letters with plastiline.

4. Writing

- And now it’s time to write letters. Open your workbooks at page 20.
