The Weather in Spring
Мета уроку:
Практична:
- активізувати лексичний матеріал з теми «Погода» структури: We can / cannot…, It is warm etc.:
- закріпити: лексичний матеріал з теми «Весна», структури: What colour is/ are…? What is the weather like?
- формувати уміння читати;
- формувати уміння одержувати із тексту та ілюстрацій нові знання;
- формувати навики роботи з підручником та зошитом із друкованою основою;
- формувати уміння описувати малюнки погоди навесні.
- формувати навички працювати індивідуально, в парах, групах, фронтально.
Розвиваюча:
- розвивати навички говоріння, читання, письма, мовленнєву реакцію, ініціативу мовлення, пам’ять, увагу, уяву.
- формувати вміння працювати за зразком та вказівками вчителя;
Освітня:
- сприяти збагаченню словникового запасу;
- формувати уміння вживати структури:

Виховна:
- виховувати любов до природи;
- виховувати уважність та спостережливість;
- виховувати культуру поведінки та свідому дисципліну;
- виховувати пізнавальний інтерес до вивчення англійської мови;
- сприяти попередженню втоми на уроці.
Методи навчання: бесіда, діалог, пояснення, робота в парах, групах, робота з ілюстраціями, підручником, у друкованому зошиті, самостійна робота.
Тип уроку: комбінований.
Обладнання: підручник (Ростоцька М.Є., Карпюк О. Д.), дошка, зошит, СД запис,ноутбук, мобільна дошка, наочність, роздатковий матеріал.
Очікувані результати: учні повинні показати свої знання та навички по вивченій темі, використовуючи набутий лексичний та граматичний матеріал в усному та писемному мовленні у різних видах роботи.
Lesson Procedure
I. Beginning of the lesson
1. Greeting
T: Good morning boys and girls! Nice to meet you! How are you? I wish you good luck for today! So let’s start our lesson.
2. Phonetic practice
English sounds
T: If you want to speak English well, we have to wake our Mr. Tongue up. So let’s practice the sounds on the board.

(The teacher names the sounds with the help of children then practice reading of the poem and its understanding by pupils)

II. Main part of the lesson
1. Presentation of the topic and the aims of the lesson
T: So, what is the topic of our lesson?
P1: Spring. P2: The weather. P3: The weather in spring.
P: You are right, today we'll speak about the weather in spring, read the texts, repeat words, and describe pictures of spring.
2. Word revision
T: And now, my dear boys and girls, let’s repeat the words about spring.
(The teacher shows the pictures of the sun, flower, tree, sky, cloud, grass, wind, and rain. The pupils say the words in English),
3. Dialogical speech
T: Let’s work one by one. Ask and answer the questions about spring colours of the sun, flowers, trees, sky, clouds, and grass).
T: What colour are the flowers?
P1: The flowers are red, pink, blue, white purple, and yellow. What colour is the grass?
P2: The grass is green. What colour is the sky? Ets.
4. Writing activity
T: It’s time to work in our activity book. Let’s do Ex.3, p.81.
You should fill in the letters. I’ll give you 2 minutes.

7. Presentation of new words: fine / bad
T: Pay attention to the pictures on the whiteboard and try to understand the sentences with the new words.

8. Game «Find your picture»/ group work
T: Let’s play the game «Find your picture». You will work in groups and your task - to find information about your picture with fine (group 1) or bad (group 2) weather. You have cards with the sentences about fine and bad weather; you should come up to your picture, attach the right sentence to the board under the picture, read and translate.

T: And what is the weather like in this picture?
(The teacher points to the picture with the bad weather. The pupil reads the text from the mobile board).
P2: The weather is bad. It is raining. The sky is grey. It is cool. We cannot play football. We can watch TV.
10. Speech excercises / Making up sentences about spring weather
T: So, what can we add to this picture?

P: The trees are green. The flowers are red, pink, blue, white, purple and yellow. The grass is green. The sun is bright. We can play football (tennis, hide-and-seek, hopscotch, fly a kite, run, jump etc.)

T: What can we add to this picture?
P: The clouds are grey. It is wet. It is muddy. It is windy. We cannot play tennis (hide-and-seek, hopscotch, fly a kite, run, jump etc.) We can read books (play computer games, play chess, paint etc.)
11. Grammar: preposition because / Monological speech
(The teacher explains the meaning of the word «because»).
T: So, try to explain why the weather is fine or bad.
P1: The weather is fine because… The sky is blue. The sun is shining. It is warm. The trees are green. The flowers are red, pink, blue, white, purple, and yellow. The birds can sing. |
P2: The weather is bad because… It is raining. The sky is grey. It is cool. It is windy. It is wet. It is muddy. The sun isn’t shining. The birds cannot sing. |
12. Training excercises
1) Frontal work
T: What is the weather like in the picture?
(The teacher shows the pictures of the sun, cloud, wind, and rain).

2) Pair work
T: And now I ask you to prepare short dialogues about fine and bad spring weather. (The teacher gives pairs the pictures with different spring weather).
