Objectives:

to present and practice the new words on the topic;

to practice the chant;

to review Present Continuous.

Competences:

Language competence: pupils study and practice the new words from the topic «Amusement park».

Cultural awareness and expressions: the teacher practice the chant with the pupils.

Social and civic competences: Work group (ask, answer, play)

Mathematic competences: Pupils solve different puzzles, play domino, work with reading cards.

Materials: Flashcards, Domino, Reading cards, circle mood.

By the end of the lesson the pupils should pronounce correctly and study the new words on the topic, to review Present continuous structures.

Procedure

1. Introduction

Good morning! How are you? How do you feel today? (the pupils’ answers)

They show their mood on the circle

Are you ready to work? (the pupils show lego bricks) Let’s start…..

2. Phonetical drills

Let’s revise the sounds

We divide as usual into three groups and work on the phonetical cards

3. Lexical points

The teacher ask the pupils to guess the meanings of the new words (she names the words and word combinations and show the actions they mean, and the pupils should choose the card on the table with the name of the action and repeat after the teacher the action and the word)

Listen to the new words and repeat after the speaker (Quick minds CD 3 /34)

4. Lexical games

I propose you to play interesting games with the new words.

6. Grammar

Now let’s travel to our amusement park. Look at the picture (page 70 in the book) and say according to the example: What are the people doing? Give the answers (use your answer cards)

Are you riding a horse? — Yes, I am.

Are you buying chips? — No, I am not.

Are you eating a burger? — Yes, I am.

Are you throwing a ball? — No, I am not.

Are you drinking lemonade? — Yes, I am.

Are you winning a prize? - No, I am not.

I’ll give you a chance to work in pairs. Ask and answer in pairs (change the pairs)
