Funny competitions «Learn English with Fun»
Leaning Outcomes:
By the end of the lesson the students
✵ will be better able to talk about the animals, seasons and weather, subject and professions;
✵ will be better able to introduce yourselves;
✵ will have made a postcard "Spring"

Procedure
Warm-up: Welcome to the competition!
- Good afternoon, dear children!
- I'm very glad to see you here. Now we'll organize a competition called «Funny English».
- Today we’ll have a competition between three teams: «Funny children», «Happy classmates» and «Merry kids».
- Today all of you have a good change to improve your English during the game.
- The game has 6 contests.
- Well, wish you success. Be active, honest and helpful.

1. COMPETITION «Introduction». (1 point)
- Hello! We are funny children! (all together)
- Hello! We are merry kids! (all together)
- Hello! We are happy classmates! (all together)
Teacher: Now every team introduce yourselves and the captain begins.
(-Hello! My name is … I like playing computer games. I like reading, I like playing football, I like dancing. (painting, singing, riding bikes, playing games, skiing)
2. COMPETITION «Warm-up». (1 point).

3. COMPETITION «Guess the word».
I’ll describe a profession or subject, the team is advised and the captain shows the answer. Listen and start… (1 point).

4. COMPETITION «What is this animal?»
- Now, we’ll have a task. I read about different animals. You must listen attentively and show me a picture with right animal.
A snake
It’s very long. It hasn’t got any legs. It eats small animals. It’s dangerous.
A mouse
It’s very small. It has got a long tail. It’s grey. It likes cheese.
An elephant
It’s very big. It’s strong. It lives in Africa. It has got four legs and a long nose - a trunk.
A zebra
It’s a black and white horse. It lives in Africa. It eats grass.
A monkey
It has got fingers. It can climb trees. It’s brown. It lives in Africa and Asia.
A lion
This animal is a big cat. It can climb trees and eats meat.
5. COMPETITION «The Seasons»
Are you good detectives? Can you find things quickly? Let’s see who is the best detective. (The pupils are given cards.) You must find 10 words about winter. The pair that does it the first is the winner.

6. COMPETITION «The postcard»
- There are templates for postcard on your desk, take them and decorate your postcard.
